10 Rocktober 2009

An update from the past couple days.

Went to my sister's place to help decorate. Certainly a new experience but in the meanwhile my future brother-in-law may start providing me with green, something I have not been able to get on a regular basis for a long time. He also tried to teach me about American Football but it doesn't look like it is for me, there is not enough flair to admire, no acts of magnificence to fall in love with; maybe if I'd grown up with the game. Considering I likely to spend more time with them once the baby is born, I'm sure I will give it another go though.

Also Sian was supposedly going to talk to her friend at work about jop opportunities there, which could work out great. All I want to do is get my head down and work; I'm finally starting to stop giving a toss whenever I get rejected. Only one company needs to say yes and go from there. Have set myself a target of 20 jobs to apply for this week and to make sure they are all in my general field. Only I can make it happen -- even if Sian can get my name mentioned I still need to impress in an interview and do the job properly!

Implied the other sibling was a racist on facebook and he de-friended me. It may have been wrong to do so in a public forum but considering the things he 'joked' about in the past, it was bound to happen eventually. I feel I was right in the larger sense of the sparring but I do appreciate I need to become more specific with my words and to understanding what they mean and how they will effect the world and the people around me. Trying to get a job based on little experience, my intellect and wordplay will have to go through many baptisms of fire in the near future.

Haven't really listened to anything new other than some bad quality youtube clips of funk bands. Got distracted not far into Young Frankenstein to qualify it as an experience but I have YF and M.A.S.H on my desk, as well as Rachel Getting Married on my harddrive so I'm sure I can write about them soon enough. Halfway through Arsene Wenger: The Biography by Xavier Rivoire and nearly finished with Lolita.

Booked an appointment with the doctor on Wednesday to talk about muscle problems and possibly seeking therapy for the depression.
